Mulmul Bakery Origins
What started as a baking hobby for Semret Abate in 1998 has quickly become an inspiring business story, with Mulmul’s bread known all over Ethiopia. Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Semret started the business due to her children’s love for bread and to address the poor-quality bread she found in Ethiopia. Today, Mulmul Bread and Cookies Industry has grown into a testament to culinary excellence and social progress, boasting nine branches across Addis Ababa, employing over 300 people, and supplying numerous big companies with over 100 products. Guided by a resolute vision and a heartfelt mission, Mulmul aspires to become the preferred choice for baked goods across Ethiopia and beyond.
በ1991 ዓ.ም በስምረት አባተ የተጀመረው ሙልሙል ዛሬ ላይ አስደሳች ከሚባሉት የንግድ ታሪኮች ይመደባል። አዲስ አበባ ተወልዳ ያደገችው ስምረት ልጆቿ ለዳቦ ባላቸው ፍቅር እና ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ የነበረውን የዳቦ ቤት ክፍተት በማየት ሥራውን ጀመረች። ዛሬ የሙልሙል ዳቦና ኩኪስ ኢንዱስትሪ የምግብ አሰራር የላቀ እና የማህበራዊ እድገት ማሳያ ሆኖ በማደግ በአዲስ አበባ ዘጠኝ ቅርንጫፎችን፥ ከ300 በላይ ሰዎችን ቀጥሮ ለበርካታ ቤተስቦች፥ ለትላልቅ ኩባንያዎችን ከ100 በላይ ምርቶችን በማቅረብ ላይ ይገኛል። በቆራጥ ራዕይ እና ተልእኮ እየተመራ በመላ ኢትዮጵያ እና ከዚያም በላይ ለመጋገሪያ ምርቶች ተመራጭ ምርጫ መሆን አላማችን ነው።

Semret Abate - The Bakery Guru
Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Semret Abate is the youngest of five children & only daughter to her parents. She is a Single mother of three: two girls (age 17, 24) and one boy (age 26).Semret completed her primary and secondary school at Lycee Gebre Mariyam. After high school, she took short-term basic administrative courses & joined a French NGO as an administrator.
A Bakery with a Huge Difference
It has always had a reputation as a quality bakery. Now, the list of products it offers at its six branches, made by individual bakers located at each branch, consists of an impressive 104 products. These include breads and pastries made from different kinds of cereals and other ingredients, including barley, oats, teff, a mixture of cereals – 13 different grain types in all.
